| RAF NORDIC CLAIMS OF ENEMY AIRCRAFT | ||||||||||||||
| Last updated 20-05-2005 by Knut Larsson | ||||||||||||||
| It is my hope in the future that this new register will be a complete list of claims of e/a made by Nordic pilots in British services during World War 2. | ||||||||||||||
| Sadly most of pilots and crewmembers does not live anymore and few to day knows about their activities against te German Air Force Luftwaffe. | ||||||||||||||
| Their air combats took place from the Norwegian coast in the far north down south to the coast of North-Africa in the periode 1941 to 1945. | ||||||||||||||
| My first object is to fulfill a listing and then start the complicated work to identify possibly Luftwaffe unit involved. | ||||||||||||||
| After a while I then planned to value the Claims against known losses and wrote some articles about it.. | ||||||||||||||
| However to day I could say that the register shows several occasions with substantial overclaiming, mostly by 331 SQN. | ||||||||||||||
| On the other hand the register show that Nordic pilots probably were able to brought down several leading Luftwaffe fighter aces. | ||||||||||||||
| Danes is marked with (dk) and Swedes with (sw) behind the names and no marks for Norwegian. Only one Icelander is to be found, however | ||||||||||||||
| no Finnis are known. Additionally to the Royal Air Force (RAF), Pilots and crewmembers from the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNAF), | ||||||||||||||
| Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), South African Air Force (SAAF) and British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) are also included. | ||||||||||||||
| This list is not yet necessary accurate and may be wrong about Dates, Places, Names, Fates etc etc | ||||||||||||||
| If you need helps on details about the list or have any COMMENTS or CORRECTIONS, YOU are always welcome to contact me on e-mail: | ||||||||||||||
