Comments:
- Exact number of kills is unknown. According to some sources Abel
Guides achieved 11 victories - six fighter and five bomber aircrafts (Polák,
Tomáš: Esa meziválečného období, part two, in Plastic Kits Revue, No.
44, 1995), other credit him with 10 victories - six fighter and four bomber
aircrafts (Russian correspondent M. Kolcov, Shores, Christopher: Air
Aces, Presidio Press, Novato, California 1983). At a conservative
estimate he achieved only three confirmed victories (Lareau, P.: L'Aviation
republicaine Espagnole 1936-1939, Docavia Vol. 8, Ed. Lariviére, Paris
1978, Šnajdr, Miroslav: Hořící Španělsko, Votobia, Olomouc 2001).
- Some sources present that William Laboussiere achieved 3 or 8 confirmed
victories.
- Jean Darré used Julio Dovia Alvarez as the "nom de guerre". Exact
number of confirmed victories of Jean Darré is unknown. Some sources present he
achieved 4 confirmed kills (Polák, Tomáš: c.d., Howson, G.: Arms for
Spain, The Untold Story of the Spanish Civil War, J. Murray, London),
other say three (Thornberry, R.S.: André Marlaux et l'Espagne,
Libraire Droz, Genéve 1977) or even 5 kills (Lareau, P.: c.d., Šnajdr, M.:
Dewoitine D.371 a D.372, in Historie a plastikové modelářství, No. 6,
2005).
Jean Darré supposedly achieved other five unconfirmed victories during World
War One.
- Some sources present that Victori Veniel achieved 1 (Laureau, Patrick:
L'Aviation Républicaine Espagnole 1936-1939, Docavia No 8, Ed. Larivière,
Paris, 1978) or 2 confirmed victories (Facon, Patrick: La Guerre d'Espagne en
1936 - Le Front Populaire recule, Le Fana de l'Aviation, No 446, Jan 2007).
- René Issard is sometimes refered to as Isard or Isnard.
- Some sources present that Adrien Matheron achieved 1 confirmed victory
(Facon, Patrick: c.d.).
- Some sources present that Guinet achieved 3 confirmed victories.
